Scottish Open Results from today at the Scottish Open Jessie - Bronze 🥉 Lucy - Bronze (seniors) 🥉🥉🥉 Lucy - 5th (juniors) 😬 Ben - didn’t place 😦 Both Jessie and Lucy will get 75 GB ranking points. This means Jessie will move to about 7th and Lucy will make her senior ranking list debut, ranked about 21st. Ben will remain ranked about 10th. The next day was national Randori before the loooong drive home Regional England Development Squad (REDS) Anna, Carys and Hercules have been selected for REDS and attended their first weekend where they did physical and technical selection tests. They'll now attend this England talent development training every month. There is more information on REDS here. For a second time Comberton Judo Club have come out on top at the Eastern Area Closed making us the regional champions!
The competition is fought as individuals with points are awarded to clubs for the number of players competing (1 point person), gold (6 points), silver (4 points) and Bronze (2 points). 29 Players fought, the most we have ever taken to this event. At the Northern Home Counties GB ranking event Comberton JC picked up two gold medals!
Both Ben and Jessie managed to win their weight categories earning them 100 points towards improving their GB ranking before the British championships in December. There is more information on our facebook page Double gold today at the NHC open for Ben and Jessie 🥇🥇🥋💪🦍Comberton Judo Club Just a reminder that judo will be at 7-8pm for all kids (age 5-13 years old) throughout August. These new summer times will start tonight and run for 5 weeks.
On the 5th September the class times will go back to usual. We hope to see many of you there each week at 7pm if you are not away on holiday!
