Background:
Felicity came to judo later in life, starting in 2015 aged 30. She quickly discovered she loved the challenge it presented, and started competing as part of UC Davis' university team in California, USA. Back in the UK, Felicity continued to train as a recreational judoka, starting to become more involved in the club as her son started judo in 2017. Felicity qualified as a Level 1 Coach in 2018, and gained her Level 2 in 2019, she enjoys leading the Mini Monkeys class, which is always fun filled, and supporting the older kids as they develop in Cheeky Chimps.
Felicity balances judo with family life, full time work running a research institute, a part time PhD on sports as an instrument for peacebuilding in post-conflict communities in the School of Psychology and Sport Science, ARU, and regular volunteer work in the community (in schools, in conservation and health and wellbeing).
